Chapter 49

Clary knew the law, she was taught it in school. Everyone was taught the laws and rules of the pack in school, so Clary knew that Selena and Mr. Clark were right; they were telling the truth. 

“Let him go,” Mr. Clark said to the guards and they did what they were told. 

When the guards let Ace go, he huffed and then straightened his clothes. He was still pissed but knew he had allowed his anger to get the best of him. 

He knew the law but in the heat of the moment, he did not give a damn. He just wanted to feel something at that very moment. He also knew that Mr. Clark would not let him face the death punishment, they must have been bluffing. 

“I’m the Alpha of the pack,” Ace reminded everyone. “I can not be put to death. That’s…” He scoffed. “That would only make matters worse for the pack and everyone else!” A pinch of fear lingered in his heart. 

“Alpha or not, you just committed a serious crime,” One of the councilmen said.
