Chapter 78

He stepped into the dining room and found Celine setting the table.  

"You're cooking?" asked Nico, a little surprised.  

Celine gave him a quick glance. "Just a simple menu."  

Calvin, who was already sitting in his chair, cheered. "Daddy, Mommy cooked for us!"  

Nico walked over, looking at the plates on the table. "Looks delicious."  

Celine spooned food onto Nico's plate. "Try it first."  

Nico took one bite. Then he smiled. "This is good."  

Celine breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness."  

They ate in the warmth. Every now and then Calvin would chatter about his day at school, while Nico and Celine exchanged glances with feelings that were hard to explain.  

After eating, Calvin yawned widely. "I'm sleepy."  

Nico picked up his son. "Come on, Daddy take you to bed."  

Calvin nodded. "Daddy don't leav
