"And I get to stay with her the whole time," Melanie said.
"You do?" I said and a happy smile crossed my face. "That’s awesome!"
"But after this one?" Juliet said. "I’m taking a break. A real break. Probably a year off. Only the media for Carly’s movie. That’s it."
"And the Oscars," I said.
"Bad luck!" Melanie shrieked. "Bite your tongue!"
I sat back and enjoyed the warmth of the girls cuddling up on me. We could get through this and enjoy an open road of whatever we wanted. The wedding, the movie, then a year of smooth sailing. I loved the idea. It could be like a year-long honeymoon. I hoped it would pay off for Juliet. Everything about the production, including her confidence, felt different.
