Chapter 16. Katherine

Snow’s POV

Kol leaves me alone in his room, locking the door shut, and I sit in a chair in the corner of his room, frustrated at the situation I’m in. I have to find a way to get out of here. I have to get to Stefan and make sure he’s okay.

“Why are you fighting the mate bond?” I hear a voice in my head, which startles me for a moment, but I quickly realize it’s my wolf’s voice. I haven’t even named her yet.

“Hi,” I say with a roll of my eyes. I know she’s going to give me trouble with this whole mate bond thing because she feels it stronger than I do.

“That is not the answer to my question. You had your fun with Stefan. He’s fun, and I really like him, but he is not our mate. Mates are supposed to be together, and you hurt me every time you refuse to acknowledge Kol as your mate,” she says, and I frown in confusion at her words.
