Chapter 45. A Ghost

Snow’s POV

I couldn’t breathe when I saw him. It was almost like the world toppled over and scattered everything that I had tried so hard to organize in my mind. I saw him, and pieces of me that I didn’t even know still existed broke inside me. I didn’t know what to feel or what to do. All I could do was run and hide. At that moment, that was all I wanted to do. How could I ever face him again?

I pace back and forth in Kol’s room, and I startle lightly when he pushes open the door to his room. We exchange a look, and his eyes soften as he sees the tears laced in mine. He shakes his head slowly and walks toward me with his arms wide open, and I don’t hesitate to run into his arms.

I sob into his arms, and he holds me in understanding. He knows I loved Stefan before I met him. Before I felt the mate bond, and everything changed. Before we had sex, and sealed our bond for good.
