Logan’s POV
“Logan!” Maddy said again, louder this time.
I shoved the phone back into my pocket, my jaw clenched. “If there’s any update about her, I’ll let you know,” I said curtly, turning to leave.
“Logan, please…” Maddy pleaded, but I was already walking out.
My men were waiting outside, their eyes on me as I approached.
“Wait in the car,” I ordered them, my tone leaving no room for argument.
They exchanged glances but obeyed, moving toward the convoy. I stood by the entrance for a moment, my fists clenched. Something didn’t sit right with me about Maddy’s story.
I turned back, re-entering the apartment. The loud music still blared from the speakers, but I ignored it as I made my way toward Layla’s room. As I approached, I heard Maddy’s voice, low and urgent.
