Chapter 301
Isabella’s POV
The message vanished as though it had never existed. Relief coursed through me, but it was fleeting. I knew Logan could easily sense when something was off, and I wasn’t ready for any confrontation just yet.
I glanced at him again, pretending to be focused on the water, but he was already close. Too close. His wet hair clung to his forehead, droplets of water trailing down his face and muscular shoulders. His piercing gaze locked onto mine as he rested his arms on the edge of the pool.
“Isabella,” he said calmly, his voice carrying a note of curiosity, “can I have my phone back?”
I hesitated, just for a fraction of a second, enough to make my heart skip a beat. Did he know? Was he suspicious? But I quickly plastered on a bright smile, masking my nerves. “Sure, here you go,” I said, handing him the phone as casually as I could manage.
