Logan’s POV

It wasn’t the light, cheerful tone she usually used with me. She sounded frustrated, even angry.

“Do you know what you almost cost me?” she was saying, her voice sharp and accusing.

I froze, staying out of sight as I listened.

“I was lucky I saw the message first and deleted it,” she continued, her words coming fast and furious. “If I hadn’t, everything would’ve been ruined. You need to be more careful next time!”

My heart skipped a beat. What message was she talking about? And who was she speaking to?

“Isabella,” I said, stepping into view. My voice was calm, but there was an edge to it. “What message did you delete?”

She spun around, her eyes wide with surprise. For a moment, she looked like a deer caught in headlights. “Logan! I didn’t hear you come back.”

I crossed my arms, my gaze steady. “You
