Layla’s POV
A silence fell between us, and I leaned back against him, letting the quiet settle over us like a fragile truce. My thoughts wandered, circling back to Logan and the life we had shared.
The image of him with that little boy resurfaced, and I couldn’t help but wonder if he had ever truly loved me. If he had, how could he have replaced me so easily? How could he have left me to face this alone?
“I keep thinking about that boy,” I said softly, breaking the silence. “The way Logan looked at him… it was like he was his entire world. And I can’t help but wonder if that’s what he wanted all along. A perfect little family with someone else.”
