Maddy’s POV

The sun was bright as I made my way to Jason’s mansion. It had been a while since I last visited Layla, and I missed her. 

With everything going on in her life, I wanted to check on her, make sure she was doing okay. Besides, Jason’s place wasn’t exactly the worst spot to hang out in. The man lived in a palace.

When I rang the doorbell, I heard muffled voices inside, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps. Then, Layla’s voice rang out, “Maddy!”

Before I could even process it, the door swung open, and there she was…my very pregnant best friend, glowing but clearly out of breath from rushing to the door. 

“Maddy! You’re here!” she exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug despite her growing belly.

I laughed, hugging her back gently. “Of course, I’m here. You didn’t think I’d stay away forever, did you?”
