She tilted her head slightly, confusion flashing across her face. “What do you mean?”
I hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. “It’s just… things have been complicated lately. I’ve been questioning things I never thought I’d question.”
“Like what?” she pressed, her tone gentle but firm.
