"Good," I said, snatching the tickets off the counter. "Let’s go."
As we walked away, Carlos leaned in. "Boss, this isn't safe. Staying in one place for that long…"
"I know," I interrupted, keeping my voice low. "But we don’t have a choice. I’m not taking any more risks tonight."
Carlos exhaled sharply but nodded. "At least the terminal’s got security. It’s not the worst place to lay low."
That was the only reason I wasn’t flipping the entire airport upside down in frustration. The terminal was secure. Cameras everywhere. Guards patrolling. No one could try anything without being noticed.
Still, I hated the idea of being grounded here for the night. If things weren’t so hot, I would’ve taken my private jet.
But flying it now was a risk I couldn’t afford. Too many eyes on me. Too many people waiting for me to make a mistake.
