Chapter 793

Logan's POV

She looked back at me, her head tilted in confusion. 

“Maddie? Oh, she went out. Why?”

I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. 

“No reason. Just curious.”

She didn’t seem to notice my relief and disappeared down the hallway. I shook my head, trying to calm down. 

I didn’t know why I was so on edge about Maddie seeing me. Maybe because Maddie was sharp…too sharp.

If she saw me, she might start asking questions, and I wasn’t ready to answer them and even go ahead to tell Layla the things I had done to her before she lost her memories.

I walked around the living room, trying to distract myself. But my thoughts kept drifting back to Maddie. I remembered the way she looked at me the last time I saw her…like she was trying to figure me out. It made me uneasy.
