Logan's POV

I couldn’t take it anymore. If I stayed one more minute, I would say something I’d regret. 

“Excuse me,” I said, pushing back my chair. “I need to use the restroom.”

Layla glanced up, her eyes softening. “Are you okay?”

I forced a smile. “Yeah, just... need a moment.”

She nodded, turning her attention back to James, completely unaware of the tension simmering between me and Maddie. 

I walked away, my shoulders tense, feeling Maddie’s eyes on my back the entire way. I knew she’d follow. She was just waiting for an excuse to confront me.

I made my way to the restroom, splashing cold water on my face as I tried to calm down.
