Maxine's POV

As I turned to leave, he called out to me again.

"Maxine."

I stopped and looked back at him. "Yes, Master?"

"Remember your place," he said coldly. "You're here to serve me, nothing more and you are not my Luna."

His words were a harsh reminder of my reality. "Yes, Master," I whispered and quickly left the room.

Back in my room, I collapsed onto the bed, too tired to even cry. The day's events played over and over in my mind, each memory was like a fresh wound in my already battered spirit. Despite everything, I clung to a small glimmer of hope that things might one day change for the better. Even though I knew it was just an illusion. But It was the only thing keeping me going.

As I lay there, I couldn't help but wonder how much longer I could endure this life. But for now, all I could do was survive, one painful day at a time.
