Chapter 85

Maxine’s POV

"Thank you." I stood to my feet. "Let me go shower and change my clothes then I can make us dinner. You'll stay for dinner, yes?"

"Sure," Tobias answered at the same time, Ella said, "Yes."

I quickly took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and got to cook dinner. I finished on time since I already had a few leftovers that completed the meal.

Tobias and Ella thanked me after eating. They wished me goodnight and left. I went back to the kitchen to clean up.

There was a knock on the door. I stopped washing the dishes and I looked at the clock.

"Maybe Ella had forgotten something here…" I said to myself. I dried my hands on a napkin and went to get the door.
