Chapter 94
Maxine’s POV
Liam was clenching his jaw so I could tell that he was in a lot of pain. I don't know why he chose to come to me instead of the pack hospital.
I had no one to help me and I was scared that he was going to die in my arms and I would be blamed for his death.
"What do I do?" I asked, about to panic. Some of the wounds were still bleeding out. I had to do something.
"One thing at a time. One thing at a time." I reminded myself as I ran to get a clean cloth from the laundry I had done. I came back and ripped it, pressing it against his wound.
I needed to find a lighter. And fast. I rummaged through my kitchen but I didn't find any. "Where's the lighter?" I asked, ready to cry.
There was a knock on the door. I went to answer it, making sure that the door didn't reveal that Liam was in my living room. My neighbor, Lindsey, was at the door.
"Uh, now is not the time," I said forcing a smile and trying to close the door.<
