Liam's POV

"The public does not reject." I looked Harold in the eyes. "Do you accept?" I asked.

He bowed his head ever so slightly. "I accept." He said.

I grinned. "Wonderful. Say hello to the new Alpha!" I cheered. People began to clap, congratulating him.

Some wolves dragged Gerald away probably to treat him. Maxine watched from afar, a longing in her eyes as her father moved in the crowd.

I wondered why they hadn't spoken yet. Surely, a father would long to be united with his daughter again. But, what did I know? He was the one to give her up to me in the first place.

I walked over to Maxine. Varis met me halfway, handing me a napkin. I began to wipe the blood off my face and my hands. But I needed a bath to clean up.

"Did you enjoy the show?" I asked, standing next to her to watch the crowd.
