Chapter 102

Maxine’s POV

I was trying to remember all I knew about fighting but I hadn't been in real fighting situations so I didn't have much experience. What I did know was that I should never underestimate my opponent.

This man was large, so large that his footsteps sounded heavy behind me. I stopped briefly and glanced around. There was forest everywhere around me.

If I continued down the path, my attacker would be able to follow after me. I couldn't see any of the guys. Maybe they thought I would be safe if they carried the fight someplace else.

Boy, were they wrong?

Large hands clamped on my shoulders and I grabbed it, twisting it as I turned. He cried out in anger and glared at me.

"I'm going to kill you!" He yelled, coming after me.

I dodged, kicking his foot. It caused him to stumble forward. As I avoided his attacks barely, I realized something. He was big and I was small. I could use that to my advantage.
