Chapter 72. Safety

A man stumbled out through the trees, dragging with him someone else. 

"Dilla!" Ennie shouted. Turning to Germaine, she exclaimed. "My lady, it's Dilla and Connie."

Germaine's heart soared on seeing them. They were the least people she expected to break through the trees. She didn't think for one minute the danger was past them, far from it. She knew it still lurked close by. 

"My lady, Ennie, quick, we must go across the river now for behind us lurks the vampires." The mage stumbled forward with a worried look on his face.
