Chapter 89. The Find

The sky was dark grey, with clouds looming like ghouls. Ever since Storm and the rest of his party got to the desert, it seemed their moods mirrored the sky. They had been in the desert for four days and four nights, and nothing had happened.

They were yet to find the talisman. 

Once it was sunset, Storm, Keratin, Dilla, and Zar set off toward East to look for the Orks, according to what the moon goddess had revealed to Storm. On their return, she saw anxiety with a touch of gloom. It was the look of the unknown, the look of uncertainty. It made her feel restless. They were right to feel that way, Germaine surmised. 

Whenever Storm and the others left, she moped around the camp where they set up, looking morosely at nothing in particular. With nothing else to do and not wanting to sit around chatting with Amelia and Connie, she took long walks to nowhere, all the while looking down at the endless brown sand that stretched out as far as her ey
