Chapter 15

Brent knew I was in the hospital but didn't even go to see me. Does he still think of me as his wife? Why is that? Am I worthless to him? There are many things I want to ask him so I need to get out right away.

“What did the doctor say? Can I go home right away?” I asked Lorena.

“Yes, that's what he said. But are you really okay? You scared me earlier, huh!”

“I'm sorry and I still feel sorry for you,” I asked for a dispensation from Lorena because, like me, she also worked a half-day.

“What are friends for? If you're really okay, I'll settle the bills downstairs first,” Lorena said and immediately left.

When everything was fine, I took a taxi and drove home. Lorena also went home. While the taxi was carrying me, I could only think about something.
