In the following weeks, Catherine had been busy inquiring at a clinic that was recommended to her for abortion cases. She inquired how much would it cost her and if it would be painful, and Jonas was with her too. As she listened to herself discussing with the quack doctor about killing the unborn child, she was greatly disappointed that she was a total monster. She even tried to take some antibiotics and bitter medicine to ease the abortion, and it was late when she realized to keep the baby.

One afternoon, as she and Jonas were eating their snacks at Julies Bakeshop she announced that she wanted to keep the baby. Jonas was taken aback by her decision but his eyes told her that he was glad. “How much do you love me?” The man never failed to tell her how much she meant to him, but she couldn’t bring herself to admit her true feelings. She was scared to love him totally…and to give him everything that she could offer.
