Chapter 48

I washed my face and brushed my teeth before going downstairs. The villa was so quiet that I wondered if Jacob had gone somewhere and left me alone. “Jacob?” I tried to call his name just to minimize my fear and when he didn't respond, I decided to hum a song. Then I went to get a can of beer from the fridge but the guy was there. I don't know what he was thinking but it seemed deep because he didn't notice me.

"I'm just going to get something to drink," I said but I think my voice was too weak. He still didn't hear me. I didn't wait for his answer. With a beer in my hand, I walked around I went outside the house and went to the patio. The moon was bright and the air was a bit chilly because it was almost Christmas.

When I got to the patio, I sat on the swing and opened my beer. Life in the villa has been good for me, but these past few days, I can't understand myself. I can't help but think of Jacob! He is always on my mind!

Jake and I are done!
