Chapter 5
I just sighed at Jacob's answer to me. Why is his ex so antipathetic? Or am I just imagining everything? I just chose to sit at the other table that was a little far from him because I had a bad trip. It's just that I hadn't even taken my seat when the man moved to the table I was occupying.
To be honest, I wanted to yell at him but I still thought he was my boss's brother.
"Yakeem mentioned you were leaving," he said.
"Yes," was my only reply.
"You're saving money to answer, are you saving anything?"
"Ha ha ha. You're corny," I said. "Excuse me, I'm going to eat."
"Okay," he replied, but how can I eat if he keeps staring at me? "Don't be shy anymore," he added.
He is right. I shouldn't be shy so I tried to ignore him while I ate.
"You eat so cute," said the man, so I couldn't stop myself from tormenting him.
Is this really Mr. Chavez's brother? Or maybe the boy was just adopted? They just behaved differently.
