Chapter 60
Addy’s POV
“Get her inside, fast,” one of the skyscraper dudes barked, waving me toward the townhouse door like I was auditioning for a sprint. Riley and Lila latched onto my arms, tugging me sideways toward the second townhouse on the left. Not the first one—no, they’d picked the one with the cool dark brick. Go figure they want my imminent doom in style.
“What? No. Let go of me,” I protested, wrenching my shoulder free. Lila released me, but Riley was fast. Her grip tightened.
“Damien’s wolf is going to be super possessive,” Riley hissed, eyes darting over her shoulder. “If we get you inside his place, he’ll chill once he’s fully—umm—shifted.”
A pained yelp-shnarl erupted from the picnic table behind us. My instincts screeched STAY AWAY, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, but instead my feet propelled me forward, straight back to the hot-guy-turned-monster. Common sense? Out the window. Desperation? Definitely in charge.
