Chapter 61
Addy’s POV
“Whew,” I exhaled theatrically—think deflating balloon—drifting toward the couch. It was more of a Jenga tower than actual furniture, buried under a laundry apocalypse. I dove onto the cushions, feet flopping up onto the oddly lumpy ottoman, and stared at the blank TV like it owed me answers. My right hand clutched my purse strap against my chest, my left still pawing at the impossibly soft fur of the werewolf who’d leapt onto the sofa beside me.
I leaned my head back, closed my eyes, and let the silence stretch.
Shit.
Everything had just… done a 180.
Yep.
Totally changed.
Then again, when your best friends are Riley and Lila—Riley, who thinks kryptonite is a breakfast cereal, and Lila, who’s been marathoning Bigfoot documentaries since ’97—maybe weird was my default setting. I’d kinda suspected werewolves were real after Lila’s obsessive YouTube binges, but meeting one face-to-fur? That was entirely in a different league.
