Rose’s POV

Yes, I was hurt at first that they didn’t fight for me, but still, it was better than not seeing them again if he killed them all. Alpha Kanen was a terrible man and I know he wouldn’t think twice about doing that.

I took a deep breath as I looked at the wireless phone Eliza was holding out to me. This was my only chance. Carefully, I grabbed it from her hands and closed my eyes a bit. Then, I swiped through the buttons as I put in my family’s line in the pack house.

It was switched off.

I blinked in shock.

No, this can’t be.

My family never switched off their phones or the main landlines because they wished to speak with the pack if they were too tired of mind-linking. So, what the hell was going on? I dialed the number once more, and nothing.

Looking at Eliza, she was glaring at me, and I know that her patience was waning. What do I do now? Well, it would be best if I spoke to my best friend about the whole mess. I dialed
