Chapter 322
Alpha Kanen’s POV
I woke up with a start, something feeling off before I even opened my eyes. The tent we had set in the bush was feeling heavy to me, as if something was wrong, and it made my stomach burn with unease.
I reached over to the side of the bed, expecting to find Rose, but the space was empty, the sheets which we used to lay down on the ground were cool to the touch. A cold feeling crept over me.
“Rose?” I called out, but there was no response. My heart started to pound as I threw off the covers and jumped out of sheets.
I quickly checked the environment, the other empty tent—everywhere she could be hiding—but it was all in vain. She wasn’t there.
My mind raced, trying to make sense of what was happening. She said she wouldn’t go through with the plan; she promised us. Where could she have gone? I thought to myself but got no reply from myself.
