Rose’s POV

“They’re really coming,” I whispered to myself, my voice trembling. I felt a strong panic, and for a moment, I wanted to run. I wanted to turn and flee back to the safety of the camp, to find Alpha Kanen and tell him everything. But I knew I couldn’t. I had to stay. I had to face this, no matter how scared I was.

I folded my fists, trying to cool down my nerves. I couldn’t let them see my fear. I had to be strong, to show them that I wasn’t afraid.

But inside, I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do. I was just one person, standing in the path of an entire army. How could I possibly stop them? How could I protect my pack when I couldn’t even protect myself? I asked myself.
