Alpha Kanen’s POV

The fire crackled softly as I settled down next to it, stretching my legs out and feeling the warmth into my boots.

The night was quiet, except for the occasional noise of the night crickets in the grasses.

I glanced over at Raph, who was poking at the fire with a stick, a thoughtful look on his face.

Joe had just walked in, his usual grin spread on his face as he sat down beside us.

“You know, Kanen, I still can’t believe you prefer sleeping under the stars instead of in a warm tent,” Joe teased, nudging my shoulder with his elbow. “You’re a strange one.” He teased me.

I chuckled, leaning back on my hands. “It’s not that strange. You should try it sometime, Joe. There’s something peaceful about being out here, away from everything.” I told him with a soft voice.

Raph looked up, a smirk playing on his lips. “Peaceful? I thought you just wanted to get away from the snoring.” Raph teased me by snoring while sleeping.
