Raph’s POV

“I’m really sorry, Alpha Kanen, but I have to go.” I said calmly.

The words slipped from my mouth, and I could hardly believe I was saying them.

Every part of me wanted to stay, to fight beside him. But deep down, I knew this was the only way.

Alpha Kanen was just so stubborn, he didn’t believe in failure. And he doesn’t surrender quickly.

The human wolf stood in the shadows, waiting patiently, like it already knew how this would end.

Kanen looked at me, his face a mixture of shock and anger. “What are you talking about, Raph?” His voice was low, almost growling, but I could hear the worry behind his words. “You don’t have to do this. We’ll find another way.”

I was already tired of what he was saying. I shook my head, taking a deep breath to steady myself. “There is no other way, Kanen. The woods…they’ll take us both if I don’t go. I can’t let you die because of me.” I gave him reasons to go.
