Rose’s POV

I stood there, staring at the village in the distance, unsure of what to do.

The lights showed gently, calling me forward, but fear didn’t make me take a step. I remained in the same spot.

I was all alone now, with no sign of Miraelle, and the thought of staying in the forest by myself made my skin crawl.

Every noise of the leaves or snap of a twig sent my heart racing.
