Rose’s POV

The night was still, the kind of quiet that made you feel like the world had stopped moving.

I lay in the small, tattered bed that Celine had given me, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t sleep.

The room was dark, with only a small sliver of moonlight coming through the cracks in the window.

Celine was fast asleep on her side of the room, her soft breathing the only sound.
