Alpha Kanen’s POV

I wouldn’t have wanted him to join the fight, but Malone wasn’t supporting the pack in any way. He was completely nonchalant about the whole thing, and I was going to bring him to order about this whole thing.

I needed to focus on getting out of this mess. Zion was barely wounded, and I was expecting a strike back at any time. My entire pack was in danger of an infiltration and a coup at any time, and I could be overthrown.

In the meeting, Zion had said I had instigated the death of my parents. He had told mind-blowing lies and made them believe that the reason I was alive was because I was behind the whole scenario.

The pack of elders seemed divided, and as I lay on the bed in the bay, I realized that I actually didn’t know who was for me and who wasn’t. There were elders who would adhere to tradition, and would want the older son to assume the throne.

I knew if Zion assumed the throne, the pack would be in disarray.
