Chapter 81

Alpha Kanen’s POV

When I got to her, she was sleeping, tossing and turning. I heard a ruckus outside the door and realized the guards were restricting Malone and the diviner from coming in.

I clear them in, and the diviner comes in and begins practicing his spells.

“They have actually cast a projection spell, my lord,” he said, and I burst out in fumes. One guard was on standby duty in front of that door.

How had someone entered and left cleanly, exiting with Rose’s picture? She loved that picture so much, and it was the only picture left of her childhood.

It wasn’t funny anymore.

Rose’s POV

I was sleeping calmly at first, but at some point I began tossing and turning in my sleep as I started to have some funny dreams. The guards were authorized not to touch me, and I knew they probably would have roused me to know what was wrong.
