POV: Denvereaux Thorne He was caged in the darkness. He was sleeping soundly when she heard someone’s voice. A familiar one. And it croaked as pain and melancholy were visibly written in each of the words she spoke. His heart clenched in pain, too. He could feel her raw pain until it all intensified – making him finally open his eyes.
‘Where am I?’
He tried to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth. It was so dry, but he wasn’t thirsty. Then, the familiar voice resonated in his ears again – this time, it was a bit clearer. Right there and then, he knew that it was Shea – his wife.
His heart ached as he heard her. He knew that she was crying.
