Chapter 44. Warning

POV: Someone

She could hear the loud howling of the wolves around her. She was panting so hard, as she was certainly hanging in thin line – fighting for her life.

The loud growl of the wolves was slowly nearing her, and she swallowed hard. She couldn’t cover her smell; the hunters and the sentinels would surely find her at any moment now.

“No! I won’t let them catch me.” She whispered under her breath while her jaw was clenching in pure anger.

“Ahhh!”

A loud, familiar voice resonated in the deepest and darkest part of the woods. She knew that voice. She closed her eyes firmly as her anger escalated. Her eyes were turning a darker shade, and her inner wolf wanted to take over her human form.

However, she would just make it easier for the hunters and sentinels to find her. She slowly walked – holding her fractured ribs. Every part of her body was aching, but she had to move. She had to escape from them.
