“Reese!” Troy grabbed my arm, and I turned my gaze at the woman, sending her a message through my eyes. He was hurting me physically.
“Excuse me, Mister. You are hurting your wife!” she warned him.
“I am not hurting her! She’s lying!”
“I am not lying. I caught them the other day. And he filed a petition for divorce last week?” I scoffed dramatically, shaking off Troy’s hand violently. “How did that even happen?”
“Do you agree with this divorce?” the woman asked, and I shook my head, which made Troy let out an angry sigh.
I could even hear his teeth grinding in rage.
“Then you will be needing a lawyer if the other half doesn’t want a divorce.” The woman stamped the papers denied, and dismissed us.
It’s not that I didn’t want to divorce Troy yet. I just wanted to teach them a lesson before anything else.
