After finishing breakfast, I tossed my bag over my shoulder and took the tray downstairs, dropping it in the sink before heading outside to the car where Dad was waiting. Brad had the day off.

“Lia told me you don’t want her to bring you breakfast anymore starting tomorrow. Is that true?” Dad asked, watching me buckle up.

I nodded, feeling a bit awkward. “I’d rather have breakfast with you, Daddy,” I bit my lip, bracing for his reaction.

To my surprise, he smiled warmly. “The twins are really changing you for the better. You’re growing up, princess.”
