“Okay…” Liza responded, and then she reached for her new phone on the coffee table and dictated Reese’s number.
“Thanks…” I shoved my phone back in my pants. “Aren’t you going to the bar tonight?”
“I’m not feeling well, Enzo. I’ve already called Franco to take charge…” She stated, referring to the floor manager. I sighed as I watched Liza’s breathing become stable.
I moved closer to her and pressed my palm against her forehead to check if she had a fever. My brows knitted when I found her temperature to be normal. I shrugged my shoulders, considering that perhaps she was merely exhausted.
I shook my head as I stepped out of her house, making sure to lock the door behind me.
My heart thudded again, and it became louder with each passing second. Where the hell are you, Reese?
I was trying so hard to keep a clear mind, but it was so damn difficult when my worry about her kept building up inside me.
