Chapter 55. Getting Smarter

Lilly’s POV

I haven’t been this anxious in my life. Everything felt so unreal. I was meeting my parents in a couple of minutes, and I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The anticipation was almost overwhelming, my heart racing as I rehearsed what I might say. Would they be happy to see me, or would there be tension, a reminder of our years apart?

As I took a deep breath, I tried to calm my racing thoughts, reminding myself that this was a chance for a fresh start.

I glanced at the clock, feeling the seconds tick by, each one amplifying my anxiety. Zack left me instructions to the location where we would meet. He will be there too. I just need to follow his scent.

A blend of exhilaration and apprehension surged through my veins. I was scared, maybe even petrified.

However, I couldn’t turn back now. I gave Zack my word, and besides, I wanted to meet them in person.

They sounded so surreal, and I needed to make sure they were real.
