Lilly’s POV

“Lilly, it’s me, Zack,” the familiar voice answered, and I opened the door and let him in. He stepped inside, his expression a mix of concern and relief. “I was worried about you,” he said softly, his eyes searching mine for any signs of distress.

“I’m okay,” I reassured him, though I knew deep down that I was still grappling with the emotions swirling inside me.

“He seems a bit anxious,” Asena said as he passed us.

I silently closed the door behind him and followed him to the small sitting room. Zack had already taken a seat.

“Is something wrong?” I asked.

Zack stayed quiet, his eyes staring down at his hands.

“Zack,” I called, trying to get his attention. “What’s bothering you?”

He abruptly sighed and shifted his gaze toward me. “Mom and Dad,” he said.
