Chapter 41

Summer POV

“You’re the one standing in my mate’s house,” Sophia responded.

I laughed. “Ezra didn’t tell me you were funny.”

Sophia clenched her jaw and placed her hand on her hip. She grinned and I swear her eyes twinkled. I couldn’t stand this woman; she irritated my wolf. My Alpha female wolf wanted to tackle her to the ground but I returned Sophia’s smile and pushed my wolf away.

“Where is Ezra anyway?”

“Upstairs, asleep,” I said quickly. “Want to leave a message?”

She shook her head and strolled inside, swinging her bag at her side. “I’d rather wait for him to wake up. I’ve got things to talk about with my mate.”

I bit the inside of my cheek. This was getting ridiculous. Ezra could not have two mates!

“Are you sure you even want this Summer?” Sophia asked, her voice sweet and innocent.

“What?”

“Ezra’s a lot older than you. He’s an Alpha and he’s in contention to be Alpha King. Do you want the responsibility?”
