Chapter 47

Summer POV

“What do we do?” Estelle yelled.

“Keep him down before he destroys the place,” I said.

The few shoppers in the store ran out as soon as Hunter started convulsing. I tried to link Ezra but I only managed to get a few words through before the ringing started again.

The beast appeared out of nowhere, foaming at the mouth, eyes red like hell. He knocked over groceries, and liquids split on the floor. I shoved Estelle forward as Hunter took a swipe at me. A few inches closer Hunter would have sliced my calf open.

“Go!”

Estelle stopped inches from the door. She turned around and shifted into a beta wolf.

What is she thinking?

She ran past me and launched herself at the wolf. I can’t shift at a whim. My heart hammered in my chest. Estelle dodged the wolf’s blows.
