Chapter 49
Summer POV
I put my hand in the air because the room was spinning. I gripped the table for added support. Was he rejecting me?
“I didn’t hear you…” I trailed.
“I said it’s over.” He closed the distance between us.
He walked too quickly. I wanted to throw up. My limbs froze over, and my stomach turned into knots.
“I rejected her.”
“What?” I sat up straighter. “Her? You didn’t reject me?”
He frowned. “Why the hell would I reject you?”
I hiccupped, and that upset my already irritated tummy. I shouldn’t have drunk on an empty stomach.
“Because you didn’t believe me and you hate me.”
He ran a hand down his face and groaned.
“I don’t hate you. I love you, Summer.” He took my face in his palms.
“No, you didn’t believe me.” Another hiccup.
“Come on, baby.” He cooed, pulling me closer for a kiss.
I wiggled out of his hold. “I’m too drunk for this, Ezra.”
He barked out a laugh. “Lightweight.”
