Calista’s POV
“I don’t remember meeting you before. I was focused in class, trying to absorb all the important details—”
“Are you saying that I am not important, girl?” Sophia interrupted sharply, pointing her finger at my forehead. Her words stung, causing me to fall silent and watch her angry expression, unsure of how to respond.
Caught off guard by her sudden change in demeanor, I struggled to find the right words. “No, that’s not what I meant,” I began, but Sophia cut me off again, her voice filled with an unexpected intensity.
I took a step back, stunned by Sophia’s possessive declaration. Her words hung in the air, heavy with a sense of entitlement and control that chilled me to the bone.
“But we are just classmates,” I managed to say, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fear creeping in. “I borrowed his book today because mine was missing. That’s all.”
Sophia’s lips curled into a tight smile, but there was no warmth
