Chapter 38. Whispering Behind Closed Doors

The sight of Ava and Maria whispering made me suspect that something was up. They stopped as soon as they saw me coming.

“Greetings, Luna.” Ava and Maria greeted in unison.

I barely nodded in acknowledgement. “What’s with the whispering? Is there something I need to know?”

They hesitated and twisted their fingers back and forth.

“Meet me in my room,” I commanded and sauntered away.

Maria and Ava came into my room and they both looked nervous. “You called for us, Luna?” Maria asked, bowing slightly.

“Yes, I did,” I said, and gestured for them to sit down. “I need to talk to you both about Isabella.”
