Chapter 44. The Battlefield
EVERLY
My warriors and I left at dawn for Haven pack. We were still two kilometers away when I heard the sound of battle. The rogues were there already, attacking.
We all shifted into our werewolf forms.
There were a lot of people running helter skelter everywhere, and most of them had already sustained injuries. They all seemed to be in despair.
As we approached, the rogues glared at us. There were so many of them and they circled us like vultures. Their sneering faces turned into amusement when they saw me.
“Is this what Crescent Moon has to offer?” One of the rogues mocked. “A bunch of warriors led by a woman?”
“You can underestimate me all you want,” I told him. “But you won’t be laughing when I rip off your throat.”
One of the rogues stepped forward, grinning. “I’d like to see you try.”
