As I led Everly away from Rose, her body still trembled with the rage that nearly choked the life out of that woman. I was afraid she wasn’t done with Rose yet.

Everly’s power seemed to be growing stronger. It worries me because she’s yet to master it. For now, I didn’t have time to dwell on it. Zion was waiting for me in the chamber.

I lifted her to my shoulder and carried her to my room. I dropped her on the bed, brushed a kiss across her lips and covered her body with a duvet.

“Close your eyes and breath slowly,” I said. “You’ll feel a lot better.”

She nodded, not taking her eyes off my face.

I left the room and returned to the chamber where I was having a meeting with Zion, the Alpha of Haven pack.
